Here is a glossary of terms used within our DeepHow app.
Business: When creating a workspace, you will be prompted to select a Business. This is one way to further categorize your workspaces but isn’t necessary. Business is typically used within larger/enterprise customer accounts.
Categories: Workflow categories are created by the Org Admin, typically a Core Team Member. Categories allow a publisher to further organize or “tag” each workflow when publishing a video. When searching for a video, a user can select specific categories (or tags) to filter results making it easier to locate a video amongst all workflows.
Favorites: A favorite is like a bookmark. When viewing workflows within the Navigator, find the small ribbon or bookmark-style icon in the bottom right corner of the workflow tile. Once selected, a workflow you favorited will be available in the DeepHow toolbar, under “Favorites”. Add a workflow as a favorite when you want to either watch it again, need to come back and finish it later, or just love it!
Instance: This is your DeepHow environment where your content resides and is accessed via the browser or mobile apps.
Skill: A skill is a playlist of videos that are grouped by topic, process, or event. The subject comprises a course of study or processes where the persons watching will practice and achieve proficiency in the applied learned skills. For example, during a new employee onboarding, you’d want new employees to learn about many different topics, such as how to set up direct deposit, IT, Security, and an introduction to their role and team. Since these are all technically different topics but are necessary to achieve the goal of onboarding a new employee, these can be grouped using Skills.
Teams: Any number of users can be assigned to a particular skill as a “Team”. If you add users to a particular team, it will allow you to assign all the users within the Team to a Skills without having to add each user individually.
Workflow: A video or a capture. A video transforms into a workflow once it’s uploaded to the DeepHow editor and published. A workflow will be visible to end-users only after it is published.
Workspace: Workspaces are a way to group your workflows. Workspaces are similar to “folders”. Each workspace may be made private or public and can be assigned a specific set of users and/or a particular business. Each Workspace can hold workflows on a similar topic, department, or business location. Easily search for a workspace using the search feature in the upper right corner of DeepHow.
Workspace Group: With workspace groups, you can efficiently organize your workspaces by associating them with specific departments, locations, or other categories. You have the added flexibility of grouping similar workspaces under the hierarchy of a workspace group.
