DeepHow: Important Releases in 2022
Q1 & Q2 - 2022
- Editor 2.0
- We’ve redesigned the DeepHow Editor! Now, the ability to rotate the video orientation is available and updates to the existing trim and erase features have been made.
- New DeepHow Navigator
- Deephow now has multi-layer recommendations, and now you can quickly access your own Workspaces or Workspaces you’ve favorited
- Updated European Privacy Requirements
- To meet European compliance needs, checkboxes were added for users to click to confirm they have read and agree with the Privacy Policy before uploading any new content to DeepHow
- Display User Roles for Each Workspace
- Within the Admin menu, you can now easily see all Workspaces and Roles each user is assigned to
- By clicking the “pencil” icon next to the user’s name, a new popup will appear displaying the user’s role and Workspaces. Global governance!
- Set Master Password for Employees
- Organization Admins can now enable or disable a master password for employees within their Organization
- Downgrade Organization Admin Access
- Added the ability to downgrade access for Organization Admins to another role. Global governance!
- SOC2 Penetration Testing
- The DeepHow IT team completed a series of successful tests to ensure compliance with SOC2 requirements
- Email & In-App Notifications
- Users are now notified via email and from within Deephow when a Skill is assigned to them, when one of their assigned Skills has been unpublished or republished, or if their Admin sends them a reminder to complete their assigned Skill.
- Tracking Skills Progress Improvements
- An upgrade was made to the way DeepHow tracks progress towards Skill completion. Users are no longer required to click an X to confirm their activity, and DeepHow automatically tracks their progress every 15 seconds to allow for the more accurate Skill progression metrics
- Workspace Color Selector
- From within the Admin menu, Administrators are now able to pick the cover color for their Workspaces. By default, the Workspace cover color will be blue.
- Assign Skills and Workspaces to Invited Users
- Previously, a user would need to login to DeepHow for the first time before they could be assigned to a Skill or Workspace. Now all users that have been invited to DeepHow can be assigned a Skill or to a Workspace as soon as their DeepHow invitation has been sent.
- Zoom-In While Editing
- While editing a Workflow, users now have the ability to zoom-in on the video strip within the Editor. Zooming-in allows the Trim and Erase features to be more easily used.
- Translation Updates for Titles & Steps
- Within the editor, users can now translate Workflow Titles and Step Names whenever they pick a new language for translation.
- In the Navigator, if a Workflow has been translated to the same language the user picks as his UI language, the Workflow Title and Step Names will now match their preferred UI language. To enable this feature for content created prior to this update, users will need to edit that specific Workflow and select the “Translate Title and Step Names” option.
- While using the Search feature, users can now search for terms in a translated language, and the results will show up, regardless of their UI language selection.
- For example, if I have a video named “What I do as a Product Manager”, I can now search with the phrase “Gerente de Produto'' (which is in Portuguese), and the result will show up if the video has been translated to Portuguese
- Sharing: Thumbnail Preview on DeepHow Links
- When sharing a URL from DeepHow or a specific Workflow via Slack, Whatsapp, Facebook, etc, a card with a thumbnail image and generic title is automatically generated. In the near future, an upgraded version will use the thumbnail image and title from that specific Workflow.
- Allow Update to User’s Display Name
- Users are now able to change their display name. Simply click on your Avatar in the upper right corner of DeepHow, then select Personal Info. From here, you can update and save your full name.
- Search by Publisher
- A new tab “By Publisher” has been added to search results, which allows users to more easily search and find Workflows by a particular publisher. Previously the search results would group all matching publisher results within the “In the Title” tab, so it’s now much easier to find Workflows by your favorite publisher.
- Editing Tools in Workflow Builder
- These features were previously available on the very first step when uploading a video, but now they’re available in the Workflow Builder as well!
- Attachments: Upload and Download PDFs
- PDFs are now able to be added to Workflows, and viewers can download the PDF attachments as well within the DeepHow desktop and mobile apps.
Q3 & Q4 - 2022
- Auto-logout for Mobile
- The auto-logout options currently available for the DeepHow desktop version are now available for the mobile DeepHow app. Now the same security options are available across desktop and mobile devices.
- Player Subtitles Redesign
- Our player settings button has been redesigned for a better user experience, and the Subtitle language selector has been alphabetized for ease of use
- Auto-logout Warning Notification
- A notification has been added to inform users when they are reaching their auto-logout time limit. Now users will be able to avoid losing any work currently in progress.
- Ability to Export & Download Analytics
- Now the reports available in the Analytics section of DeepHow can be downloaded to your desktop!
- Redesign of Add Categories Menu
- We’ve redesigned the Add Categories box which appears before publishing a Workflow. Now it’s easier than ever to quickly apply categories to your published Workflows!
- Choose Resolution & Playback Speed While Editing
- Users can now control the video resolution and playback speed while reviewing and editing their Workflows.
- Workflow Card Updated in Editor
- The Workflow card displayed within the editor is now consistent with the Navigator to show which Workspace the Workflow belongs to as well as other simple data points
- Private Workspaces
- Admins can now create private Workspaces and restrict certain users from seeing and accessing Workflows within private Workspaces
- Workflow Annotations in the Editor
- Users can now add different types of Annotations within Workflow videos, including arrows, text, and drawings!
- Reset Password in User Profile
- Users who log in with an email address and password now have the option to change their password from within their user profile. Simply click on your Avatar in the upper right corner of DeepHow, then click Personal Info. From here, select the Password option, and reset your password here.
- Send to Review
- With organizations that have Reviewer Mode enabled for their Workflows, when a Reviewer is assigned to a Workflow the typical “Publish” button within the Workflow Builder will instead display as “Send to Review”. Once the Send to Review button is selected, the Reviewer will receive an in-app notification and email notification informing them that a Workflow is ready for review. However, if a reviewer is not assigned to the Workflow, the button will continue to display as Publish.
- Delete Workspaces
- Workspaces are now able to be deleted if there is no team or Workflow assigned to them. The General Workspace is the only Workspace that is not able to be deleted.
- Mobile App Push Notifications
- Android and iOS users now receive push notifications when a new Skill is assigned to them and when a Workflow is shared. They will also receive an in-app notification to remind them to complete a Skill, when they are approaching their Skill’s due date, and when a Skill is overdue.
- Subtitle Options Display in Original Language
- When selecting which language to display for Workflow subtitles, the list of available subtitle languages now display in their original language (Example: English, Português, Français, etc), rather than displaying them in the user’s selected UI language.
- Ability to Delete Teams
- Organization Admins and Workspace Admins will be able to delete teams that have not been assigned to a Skill
- New Translated Languages
- Swahili, Filipino, Indonesian languages have been added
- Preview Workflow Button
- A “Preview” button is now available inside the Workflow Builder so that users can preview exactly what their Workflow will look like once it’s published. Now all DeepHow publishers can preview their entire Workflow and user experience (including subtitles, attachments, and more) before it is available to end users.
- Stationary Playback Bar While Editing
- Previously while trimming, erasing, or using the voiceover feature in a Workflow, the white playback bar would automatically move every time the blue trim, erase, or voiceover bars are moved. An update has been made to the DeepHow editor so that the white playback bar no longer moves automatically when the blue editing bars are adjusted.
- Update Password Policy
- For users who login using their email address and password, we have updated our password policy and requirements. Now, the minimum password length must be 10 characters, and it must include at least one upper case letter, one lower case letter, a number, and one special character.
- The new password policy will only apply to new user accounts and future password resets.
